“The Lord is my light and my salvation; who shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; whom shall I be afraid.                                                                Psalms 27:1

Funeral service and full military rites for Eric Wall will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012, 11:00 am Hampton District Two Auditorium, Estill, SC with burial in the Goodwill Cemetery, Estill, SC. I expect to pass through this world but once; therefore, any good that I can do, or kindness that I can show to mankind, I always obliged, for I always knew that I would never pass this way again. These words describe the character of Eric Walls, that amazing son of Richard and Diane Walls who was born in Beaufort, South Carolina on September 16, 1987.

Eric’s life should not be measured by his twenty-five years on earth but should be measured by the lives he touched in many special ways. On Friday, October 12, 2012, the one we loved so dearly stepped across the threshold that we called death.  He had an appointment with his Heavenly Father, the giver and taker of life.

Eric was affectionately given several nicknames by his family and friends. Some called him “Lil Man”, “Polo Man”, “Short Can”, “Double E”, and others referred to him as“E-40”. He was educated in the public schools of Hampton District 2 and was a 2005 graduate of Estill High School. He was an athletic individual and played on the varsity basketball team. In 2008, he joined the United States Army. In 2011, he and his “battle buddies” were deployed to serve a tour of duty in Afghanistan. After returning to the states, he was employed by Wal-Mart.

Eric was very strong willed, passionate and determined individual when it came to achieving his goals. A person of very few words but he valued his special relationships with his family and friends. He was a devoted and loving father to his daughter (A’Layah J. Walls) and held a special place in his heart for Ms. Latoya Wright. Eric’s favorite NFL team was the Denver Broncos. His favorite NBA team was the Chicago Bulls. Eric was a man of colors and enjoyed fashion and style especially; Ralph Lauren.

He is predeceased in death by: grandfathers, Reburnon Walls and Adolf Gaskins; great-grandparents, Kittie Ann Brantley, Frank and Lucille Homes, Sr.

Eric leaves to cherish his memories: His loving mother and father, Mrs. Diane and Mr. Richard Walls, Furman, SC; daughter, Little Misses A’Layah J.
